Pithari Tavern, Meze night at Aphrodite Hills
We went to Pithari Tavern as a family, 9 of us including a 3 and a 1 yr old on a friday evening. When we first arrived, we were disappointed to see we had to have the Meze, thinking we would be able to choose what we wanted. How wrong we were! We had 12 fantastic tastes of Cyprus. The halloumi was cooked to perfection, the moussaka the best any of us had ever tasted, the lemon chicken divine. All of the courses were wonderful, the final dessert (greek yogurt with cherries) seemingly coming straight from heaven.
The staff were helpful and attentive, making a special fuss of the children- they even gave them free Haagen-Dazs ice cream.
The ambience was great, traditional live bazouki music adding to the atmosphere. A really fantastic evening out for all the family at reasonable cost including the extensive wine list.
The meze is served on Tuesday and Friday evenings and costs €30 per head. Five stars!
Judith, Yorks.
