Situated on the coast roughly half-way between Paphos and Larnaca, Limassol (Lemesos) is the second largest city in Cyprus. The city is steeped in history; the medieval castle was the venue for the wedding of Richard the Lionheart in 1191. Limassol is close to the fantastic archeological site and amphitheatre at Kourion, and there is also many activities for families. The Donkey Sanctuary at Vouni is well worth a visit and Limassol is host to arguably the best waterpark in Cyprus, Fasouri Watermania.
