You can eat there, change money, use their leisure facilities (for a daily/weekly charge), book boat trips and excursions to other parts of the island. Their marina offers most water sports and has a diving centre. There is also a beach and children's playground behind the hotel, which are accessible without having to go through the building.
A car is not essential, but recommended in order to really explore the island properly. Bayview is a short drive (10-15mins) from the famous Governor's Beach, which also has an excellent restaurant, children's play equipment and fairground rides. It is easy to go out west of Limassol where there is the Fassouri Water Park, and the Roman theatre at Curion, where there is also a pleasant beach with restaurant. Also easy to explore the middle of the island - Troodos in the mountains, donkey sanctuary at Vuoni, and many other places.
